It was “downright disgraceful” for London’s Metropolitan Police Service to take away Republic demonstrators’ right to protest the King’s coronation, Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers says.
“They had many meetings with the Met police before the coronation – they had said that they were going to exercise their right to a peaceful protest,” Mr Myers told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.
“I think it’s been widely accepted that this was a pretty disgraceful act by the police on the day, and there will be big questions to answer.”
