The attraction closures take place just as the Halloween Time crowds descend on the Disney parks.
Trader Sam, the shruken-head selling native at the end of Jungle Cruise has been replaced with Trader Sam’s Gift Shop in Adventureland inside Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, on Friday, July 9, 2021. The ride was changed to remove negative depictions of native people and instead of sending guests through unrelated scenes in the jungle, the attraction will now operate with a fully formed story connecting each vignette.
The six new attraction closures join Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln,” Disneyland Railroad, Disneyland Monorail and Animation Academy that were already shuttered for refurbishment. A few days later, the Jungle Cruise boat ride in Adventureland will be closed from Sept. 16 to Oct. 3 for a seasonal refurbishment.It’s a Small World will be shuttered from Sept. 16 through Nov. 14 as the Fantasyland boat ride undergoes its” water show at Disney California Adventure goes down on Sept. 9 and will remain closed for at least a month for a seasonal refurbishment.
