Trains will be disrupted until at least 11.15am, according to National Rail
A points failure is causing disruption on trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport this morning.
The operators affected are Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales. Routes affected by the points failure are Northern services between Blackpool North/Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport, as well as between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe, TransPennine services between Edinburgh/Glasgow Central/Saltburn and Manchester Airport and Transport for Wales services between Llandudno and Manchester Airport.
Tickets are being accepted on the Metrolink between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly. National Rail said: "A points failure between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport means some lines are currently closed.
