LISTEN:A mother whose baby boy Lucy Letby tried to murder hit back last night at the ‘upsetting’ and ‘disrespectful’ attempts to free her.

They have lodged an application with the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which investigates potential miscarriages of justice, in a bid to have her convictions overturned. Letby is serving 15 whole life orders after being found guilty of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder seven others, with two attempts on one of her victims‘At one point, just as they had discussed an alarm being silenced on the unit, the panel fell about laughing when a phone alarm went off, it was like they were mocking what had gone on, which was extremely distasteful and inappropriate.

He added: ‘We have received a preliminary application in relation to Ms Letby’s case, and work has begun to assess the application. We anticipate further submissions being made to us.’
