In each of three fatal shootings, the suspects threatened officers with a weapon, according to the District Attorney’s Office
The District Attorney’s Office announced Friday it had completed its review of three fatal San Diego police shootings in the past year, clearing all officers involved of any criminal liability.
The District Attorney’s Office also released their reviews of two other shootings that occurred in June 2020 and July 2022 in which two suspects survived their injuries and were later charged. Both men are currently serving multi-year prison sentences. After they arrived, officers forced open the door to a bathroom where Wang had barricaded himself. Officers used pepper spray against WangTani opened fire, fatally striking Wang.Brower had fatally stabbed his business partner Mary Ellen Carter, 66, inside their co-owned pharmacy less than an hour before the shooting, the District Attorney’s Office said. San Diego police tracked Brower back to his home and confronted him.
