Referring to this DIY solution, George reassured listeners that it's "simple" and "very cheap" to create, considering its components can be found within typical household items. Homemade sprays are primarily successful against these cunning creatures due to their intense sense of smell, making them prone to strong odours they find overpowering.
Citrus fragrances, such as those emitted from lemons, oranges, and limes, stand among the top deterrents for cats as they house limonene and linalool, substances toxic to cats if ingested. Not only does the fragrance unsettle the cats, it also triggers an instinctual revulsion in them, indicating that the area might pose a danger, prompting them to avoid it.
