Low Steppa's interest in music started after receiving an old tape
Low Steppa, who’s real name is Will Bailey, produces house music and has performed at festivals across the world from London to Amsterdam. He will be performing at a Halloween show hosted by Cream next week in Liverpool city centre, alongside Sam Divine, W Harrison, Amelia Preston, and Lucia Cors.
“I had a Stu Allen tape. It just intrigued because before that I’d been listening to stuff like Nirvana, rock music. Hearing that, it was so different. I was fascinated by how they played the music.” “I don't know, if I was a kid now, if I would have been drawn to it. We all liked the same music growing up but no one wanted to be a DJ.Creamfields, which originated from a Liverpool nightclub, held its festival at the old airfield in Speke before its growth saw it move to Daresbury, Warrington. For Will, the festival has been a crucial part of his musical career.
“It was the first festival I did in 2001. It's always been a massive brand even when it started, it's part of my history.Liverpool also holds special memories for Will. Originally from Cannock in the Midlands, he is glad to be performing slightly closer to home after several gigs abroad, and to be returning to a city ideal for DJ’ing.
