Djokovic, who retired from the match after the first set, posted an MRI scan on X (formerly Twitter) revealing a significant tear in his hamstring. He captioned the image, 'Thought I’d leave this here for all the sports injury 'experts' out there,' seemingly addressing those who doubted his ailment.
The scan, which apparently showed a large tear, sparked mixed reactions online. Some expressed sympathy for Djokovic, while others questioned the severity of the injury, particularly since Djokovic didn't share other scans from the top of his screen. One user commented, 'First Andy Murray accidentally revealing his genitals through an X-ray scan and now Novak Djokovic doing it through MRI.' Djokovic's retirement came after a grueling four-set victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the previous round, where he first sustained the injury.
