George Murdoch was murdered in Aberdeen on September 29 in Aberdeen and the case remains unsolved.

Police hope that they are now closer to solving the brutal murder, 40 years after Mr Murdoch was killed as he went to pick up a fare in his taxi on Thursday, September, 29, in Aberdeen. New advancements in forensics enabled cops to identify the DNA profile that they hope will assist with their investigation.

Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team say they are continuing to review and investigate the case but solving the murder requires the help of the public. They urge anyone with information to come forward and help George’s family finally find some closure. “Forty years is a long time to go without all of the answers to what happened to him, but it’s never too late to see justice served and we urge anyone with any information that could assist the investigation, no matter what it is, to contact police.
