Lawmakers are looking to hold a virtual vote to nominate President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic nominee in early August ahead of the DNC. This plan comes as many party members have said the president should drop out of the running.
The DNC is planning to move forward with its nomination of President Biden for the White House — despite a contingent of Democrats clamoring for a new candidate.
Biden, recovering from his third bout with coronavirus at his beach house in Delaware, remains as publicly committed as ever to remaining the race and has announced plans to his the campaign trail next week.
