A consultant has been banned from treating patients after a tribunal found him guilty of sexual misconduct towards a female patient. Dr Aloaye Foy-Yamah was accused of arranging blood tests without consent and behaving inappropriately. He was suspended from the medical register for 12 months.

A consultant has been banned from treating patients after he was found to have behaved in a sexually motivated way towards a female patient.

The General Medical Council alleged that on or around November 15, 2018, Dr Foy-Yamah treated Ms A, a person with whom he had a close personal relationship. It is alleged that Dr Foy-Yamah arranged for Ms A’s blood to be tested without her knowledge or consent when it was not clinically indicated and failed to record the test in Ms A’s medical notes.

The tribunal's full determination has not yet been published as it was handed down in private due to the nature of the allegations. A redacted version will be published in due course.
