'You know there's something big about to happen!'
Speaking to the BBC, Bishop, who plays Dan Lewis in the show, the companion to Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor, teased the episode's heavy atmosphere.
"You know there's something big about to happen," he said."You can see the change in the Doctor and change in the dynamic and you just know there's something big around the corner." The Doctor herself, Whittaker, was more apprehensive about agreeing due to the long period of time spanning between 'Sea Devils' and the regeneration episode."What's great about the standalone episodes are that if you do watch it now and then you watch another episode in autumn, you don't need to re-watch it to understand what's happening in the next one."
The actress went on to build on the flexibility that special episodes allow, as they are capable of standing on their own as"individual stories, that obviously marry all of my seasons together, build on relationships and things like that".
