The Los Angeles Dodgers are acquiring their second veteran utility man on Monday, reuniting with a player they acquired in July 2023.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have made their second trade on Monday, acquiring utility man Amed Rosario from the Tampa Bay Rays. Heading back to Tampa is right-handed relief pitcher Michael Flynn, who's spent a majority of the 2024 season in Triple-A.This is the second straight deadline the Dodgers have acquired Rosario. Last year, the Dodgers traded right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard to the Cleveland Guardians to acquire Rosario.
Rosario has a .789 OPS against left-handed pitching this year and a .723 OPS against righties. With the additions of Edman, Rosario, and Kopech, the Dodgers have fortified some of their biggest needs. They will likely still be active in search of a starting pitcher and potentially some more bullpen help, but they've seemed to solidify the issues in the lineup.
