UK police have issued a warning to anyone using an adapted Amazon Firestick to stream TV and sport for free
People in the UK who use 'dodgy' Firesticks to illegally stream sports and TV packages are being warned about potential raids by authorities. These modified devices, which provide access to paid content, have become more popular as TV package costs have risen.
Criminals have been making money by selling these tampered devices for a smaller monthly fee. However, UK authorities have noticed this and are now taking action against it. Raids have been carried out across the country, resulting in one arrest and 10 people being interviewed under caution. This operation was conducted in partnership with FACT and the Premier League, aiming to stop illegal streaming.Police also caution that users of these adapted Firesticks could be at risk of data theft, fraud, and malware. Regular Firesticks that haven't been altered cost £44.99, the lite version is £34.99, and an advanced version is £69.99.
Interestingly, many might not know that there's a legal way to watch thousands of films and TV shows for free. According to The Mirror, an app called 'Freevee', run by Amazon, offers a range of digital movies and TV shows at no extra charge, reports Teesside Live. It's a streaming service supported by ads, allowing you to watch various movies and shows without spending a penny. You can stream content on Amazon Freevee using the Freevee app.
