LancsLive has obtained details of the number of people attending A&E in Lancaster with dog attack injuries in the last three years

More than 1,000 people have been taken to hospital in Lancaster with dog attack injuries in the last three years, new figures show.

From July 2020 to July 2023 a total of 781 patients attended A&E with dog attack injuries. In contract, 39 patients attended Blackpool A&E between July 2023 and July 2024 with 18 in 2024 up to June.In 2023 some 37 patients visited Blackpool Victoria with dog attack injuries, following 31 in 2022 and 20 in 2021.In January 2023, a 65-year-old man was attacked by a dog while walking his dog across the football fields at Ryelands Park.

In October 2023, two dangerously out of control dogs were seized by police attacked several horses in the area surrounding Beaumont College in Lancaster. The two animals were initially on the loose before being found and captured by specially-trained officers.Stay calm
