Petra Gabriel allegedly poured fuel on her pet dog and set him on fire for scuffling with another dog
A dog owner covered her pet pit bull with fuel then set him on fire to punish him for fighting with another dog, police say. Petra Gabriel’s alleged attack on the dog, called Doody, injured him so badly that he now risks losing his eyes and going blind, sheriff’s deputies say. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department say Doody was set on fire earlier this month, after a scuffle with another dog called Titan. Gabriel and her sister, who has not been named, separated the animals, with Gabriel then producing an accelerant she sprayed on Doody.
The alleged animal abuser reportedly set her pet on fire moments later. Doody was so badly injured by the blaze he also now faces losing an ear. Gabriel was arrested on Friday after sheriff’s deputies were tipped off about Doody’s plight and began investigating.Gabriel – who portrays herself as a Christian animal lover online – has been charged with arson and animal cruelty and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
