Carol Wilson was driving through Morley, West Yorkshire when she saw two lamp posts 'ludicrously placed'
A dog walker has slammed bungling council workers for erecting lamp posts 'stupidly' close to each other - leaving just a '15-inch gap' that pedestrians can 'barely squeeze through'. Carol Wilson was driving through Morley, West Yorkshire, last month when she spotted a pair of 'ludicrously placed' lamp posts on a pelican crossing's central reservation.
Locals saw Carol's snaps on Facebook where they joined her in branding it a 'joke' and some even called for the 'idiots' involved to be sacked. Leeds City Council, who manage the crossing, have admitted the posts were 'incorrectly' positioned and they've contacted their contractor to move them. Carol, from Morley, West Yorkshire, said: "You'd have to be an absolute imbecile to put that post there.
"Someone said she and a couple of kids had to go through in single file, it's just stupid. There's another one across the road and there's no way people will be able to get through if they've got a pushchair or a double buggy. One asked: "Is there room for prams or double buggies?" Carol replied: "I very much doubt it. Barely room for a person to squeeze through."
