The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 1,173 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total nationwide caseload to 4,041,023.
This is the fourth straight day that above 1,000 new cases were recorded, with 1,234 new infections tallied on Saturday.Based on the DOH’s latest data, the country’s active cases decreased to 18,256 from 18,430 on Saturday. For nine consecutive days, active cases have once again reached more than 18,000.According to the DOH, the regions with the most cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 4,824 followed by Calabarzon with 2,009 and Central Luzon with 1,025.
The Health Department said at least 10,822 individuals were tested, while 318 testing labs submitted data on December 3. DOH also said that the bed occupancy in the country was 23.5%, with 6,618 beds occupied, while 21,551 were vacant.
