Dolly de Leon made history as the first Filipina to get a Golden Globe nomination.
She is among the actress vying for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture category for her performance in the Ruben Ostlund film, “Triangle of Sadness.”
It's been a string of good news for de Leon, who earlier bagged the Best Supporting Performer award from the Los Angeles Critics Association. Andrew Garfield, whom Filipina filmmaker Isabel Sandoval directed in “Under the Banner of Heaven,” got nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, Or a Motion Picture Made for Television category. Other nominees in this category include Taron Egerton in “Black Bird,” Colin Firth in “The Staircase,” Evan Peters in “Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” and Sebastian Stan in “Pam & Tommy.
