Fans are calling out a strong family resemblance after Dolly Parton and her sister Rachel appeared together on the cover of their new cookbook, “Good Lookin' Cookin'.”
When asked if she sings in the kitchen, Dolly Parton says it’s a “silly” question. “That’s just part of it,” Parton tells TODAY.com. “I remember mama used to sing all the time when she was cooking, and she was always singing anyway, so we just kind of picked that up.” The country legend says the entire Parton family — including all 11 of her siblings — grew up loving to sing and still harmonize over the stove to this day.
“The preacher in our family happened to be our grandpa, and grandpa loved fried chicken,” Parton says with a laugh. “But, he always felt like Sunday was his special day, even though he would eat with us at different times.” Parton’s next business venture is also a family affair. Along with the release of the cookbook, meal delivery service Home Chef will be adding a few of the pair’s recipes to its menu for a limited time.
