The new team based out of Moreton Bay, Queensland will start their NRL journey on Sunday afternoon against the highly-fancied Sydney Roosters.
Coached by rugby league legend Wayne Bennett, the team is made up of a mixture of international, State of Origin and NRL stalwarts along with a collection of rookies.
“One thing Wayne’s teams have always had is fight, they’re competitive and I think when anyone plays the Dolphins they’ll know they’re in a game.” “We can’t wait to get to games and support our team. There’s only been one team and now there’s two - when you look at how ticket sales are going, how memberships are going and even our corporate support it’s a long time overdue.”
Sunday’s player of the match will be awarded the Artie Legacy Medal, with the Immortal’s grandchildren due to deliver the match ball ahead of kick-off. Wayne Bennett will coach the team as the club embarks on its first season in the NRL. Picture: Bradley Kanaris/Getty Images
