DOMESTIC violence against women in London has nearly doubled in the past 15 years — despite national figures generally falling.
Met Police data shows there were 34,660 female victims of domestic abuse last year — up from 19,156 in 2005.Credit: Getty - Contributor Lisa King OBE, of the charity Refuge, said: “One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime — and that figure is really just the tip of the iceberg.National figures show a gradual fall from 431,000 in 2005 down to 200,000 last year.
But the past 12 months have seen an increase again due to lockdown, with 369,000 cases reported since the pandemic.
