Shakey's Super League preseason MVP Alyssa Solomon leads the mighty NU Lady Bulldogs to a hard-earned gold-medal match sweep of the La Salle Lady Spikers.
MANILA, Philippines – National University capped off an unblemished season with the hoisting of the 2022 Shakey’s Super League Pre-Season crown after sweeping De La Salle University in the title game, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20, on Saturday, November 19, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Late in the third set, the Lady Bulldogs emerged from a 15-17 deficit by uncorking a 5-0 run and took a commanding 20-17 lead. Solomon’s attack ended the match to secure the diadem for her team. Trisha Tubu and Antonette Adolfo put in the finishing touches for the Lady Falcons, which overcame a 1-2 match deficit against the Golden Tigresses.
Tubu put up 18 points built on 15 attacks and 2 service aces as Adamson exacted revenge over their opening day loss last September 25.
