Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently in the final year of his Everton contract
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of a number of forwards under consideration by Manchester United as his Everton contract standoff continues. The ECHO understands that while Calvert-Lewin is one of a number of options being considered by the Old Trafford club, another new centre-forward is not United’s priority heading into the final weeks of the summer transfer window. Instead, Erik ten Hag's side are believed to be focussing their efforts on brining another midfielder to the club.
Calvert-Lewin has also featured in each of his side’s five pre-season friendlies this summer. After getting off the mark against Preston North End from the penalty spot, Calvert-Lewin was again on target at the weekend against AS Roma as the Blues brought the curtain down on their pre-season campaign at Goodison Park . Speaking after the game, the 27-year-old dropped a huge hint that he will remain at Everton this season. He said: 'It was a good shift from the lads.
