The bar is well known for its style and cocktails

Fans of a popular Nottingham bar have been told not to worry after the property was put up for sale. With its attractive decor and imaginative cocktails, The Hockley Arts Club has become one of Nottingham's most Instagrammable bars.

The building has gone on the market with a price tag of £825,000. The property is rented by Nonagon Limited, part of Fletchergate Industries, which operates a string of bars across Nottingham including Penny Lane, The Blind Rabbit and The Magic Garden. A 15-year lease runs out in July 2030. The 'secret' venue, which has an unassuming entrance on Carlton Street, opens out into differently-styled bars over three levels. Stockholm is on the ground floor, the Blue Rooms on the first floor, and at the top is the neon blossom-filled Electric Garden.Martyn Cooling, head of marketing, said: "Don't panic. We are not going anywhere. We are staying open. We have a long lease so the sale won't affect us.

Commercial property agents Innes England described it as a "unique opportunity" to acquire the freehold investment of the award-winning bar. "Originally a Victorian lace factory, the property comprises a bar and restaurant together with commercial kitchen arranged over four floors which has been fitted out by the current tenant to provide an opulent interior which makes the most of the property’s period features," states the sales brochure.
