Stephanie Perry says the staff there are 'a special kind of people' and she should know
It is exhausting just listening to Stephanie Perry describe her daily routine of caring for her severely disabled daughter, Robyn. Robyn, three, suffers from spina bifida and is paralysed from the waist down. She has a neurogenic bladder and needs to have a catheter inserted every three hours to enable her to pass water. Robyn can only eat soft food like mashed potatoes in small quantities, and must be fed through a tube overnight directly into her bowel.
It's only when I go to Zoe's Place and leave Robyn there, then come home and have time to think about it, that I realise how much I do in a day.' Robyn goes to Zoe's Place baby hospice twice a month for two nights, something Stephanie describes as a 'lifeline' for her family. She is devastated about the shock announcement on Monday that the hospice will close its doors for good at the end of the year. Stephanie told the ECHO: 'I just can't believe it.
