The prosecution wrapped up its case against Donald Trump on Monday in the former president's ongoing hush money trial in Manhattan, before presiding Judge Juan Merchan had a heated exchange with a defense witness.On Tuesday Robert Costello, a lawyer who advised ex-Trump attorney and fixer Michael Cohen, is expected to continue giving evidence, with Merchan scheduling the closing arguments for May 28—after which the jury will begin its deliberations.
'Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in December 2018 after pleading guilty to campaign finance violations and lying to Congress, which he later claimed he did to help Trump.Earlier in the trial Cohen replied: 'Sure,' when asked if he wants to see Trump convicted in the case.Trump Witness Rebuked By JudgeDuring his testimony Costello, who was called as the second defense witness, clashed sharply with Judge Merchan.
