John Castro has gone from advising the Dixon Advisory scion to trying to bar Donald Trump’s return.
as the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, where, in May, it came to nought, aside from penalties and legal fees.By then, Castro had far bigger fish to fry. The presidency beckoned. Or, as his website puts it, “I could spend the rest of my life building a business empire and even becoming a billionaire if I really set my mind to it, but that’s not who I am.”
Who Castro hopes to be is the Republican 2024 nominee, a position for which the frontrunner is Trump. But not if Castro can help it.asking the justices to disqualify the former president based on the US Constitution’s 14th amendment, which bans those who engage in “insurrection” from holding public office. It’s due for an early hearing this week.
And so, the plucky Texan tax attorney trying to right the wrongs facing Australians in the United States is also trying to kibosh the presidential rebirth of the age’s most controversial political figure. From our distant perch, it seems as much of a long-shot as trying to outplay the IRS. But since when has that dissuaded Castro?
