The opening crawl tells us of a time before the Doomslayer’s Mars heroics when he was the weapon of Gods and Kings.The trailer sees a fur-cloaked Doomslayer brandishing a shield and weapon combo this time around. There’s a shield parry system, some gnarly new weaponry, and naturally, a very metal aesthetic.
The game has been in development for four years and was previously codenamed Year Zero. Early reports had suggested a medieval-inspired world. That’s undoubtedly tuned out to be true. Microsoft recently came under heavy criticism for shutting several studios under Bethesda’s banner. These include The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks, Dishonored and Prey studio Arkane Austin.Neil became a horror fan from just a nightmare-inducing glimpse of the Ghoulies VHS cover and a book on how to draw ghosts. It escalated from there and now that's almost all he writes and talks about.
