MONTGOMERY—A Dothan man has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Family members had attempted unsuccessfully to contact the female victim at her residence but while there, noticed some unusual circumstances that caused them to be concerned for the safety of the victim, and notified law enforcement. Eventually, law enforcement found Wright inside the home. Wright had a handgun with him and with his previous felony conviction he is prohibited by federal law from possessing a firearm or ammunition. Officers also witnessed signs of potential domestic violence against a female victim, Ross said.
