People are also reading… “My first game I went knee-to-knee with a player and I ruptured my ACL and I also did some damage to the cartilage,” Molina said of the USL2 game.“I had a cadaver ACL – so it had to be from people who donate parts of their body, because my knee was very damaged,” Molina said. “I went back home and was looking for job interviews to get in a human resource business, which I thought was the best thing to do for me at the moment.
Once on the Jacksonville roster on the college level and beginning preparations to start the summer season on the semi-pro level with Southern States, Molina was feeling good about life again until yet another major setback during a non-contact drill. “I’m a Catholic and for some reason I felt that this was what God wanted me to do and I’ve been lucky that my parents have always supported me in every decision and helped me in a tremendous way,” Molina said of giving soccer another shot.
“I think in life you have to remember who was there for you in your tough moments, you know?” Molina said. “So when he told me that, it was about finding a way that it wouldn’t upset the Jacksonville team, but I knew I wanted to play for him – not only because of how good of a coach I think he is, but because I felt personally I owed him that loyalty because he had been loyal to me when he didn’t have to.
