While Princess Beatrice of the UK announced the birth of her daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, on January 22nd, Princess Maria Laura of Belgium and her husband, William Isvy, delighted the world with the arrival of their son, Albert , on January 26th. Baby Albert 's arrival was a surprise, as the couple hadn't publicly announced their pregnancy.
The Belgian Palace shared the news on social media, accompanied by an adorable photo of the newborn sleeping soundly in a cream jumper. The announcement expressed the parents' joy and confirmed baby Albert's healthy weight of 3.5 kg.This newest member of the Belgian royal family shares his name with his great-grandfather, King Albert II, who reigned from 1993 to 2013. Interestingly, Baby Albert makes history as the first Belgian royal to not hold a title. Princess Maria Laura, niece of King Philippe and daughter of Princess Astrid of Belgium, married William Isvy, a British investment banker, in a beautiful ceremony in September 2022. The couple opted for a civil ceremony in Brussels followed by a religious celebration at the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula.Maria Laura, raised away from the spotlight in Basel, Switzerland, due to her father's international banking career, is known for her academic achievements. Before pursuing a Master's Degree in international relations and diplomacy from SOAS, University of London, she studied sinology and international relations in Paris. Meanwhile, the British royal family is celebrating the birth of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. Born on January 22nd at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, Athena Elizabeth Rose joins her three-year-old sister, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
