The Mournemen are one win away from a return to Croke Park while the Garden County bid to pull off another surprise victory
Down seek to book their return to Croke Park at the expense of Wicklow as the sides go head-to-head in today’s Tailteann Cup quarter-final.
The Mournemen were beaten by Meath in last year’s final and also lost out to Westmeath at HQ in this season’s Division Three final. The Garden County defeated Dessie Dolan’s men in the Leinster Championship and came close to another upset against Kildare so Down won’t be taking anything for granted this afternoon, even if they did beat Wicklow by five point earlier this year.
