An investigation is underway after a downtown Montgomery building was damaged by gunfire over the weekend.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Montgomery Police Department says officers responded to the area of Hank Way and Centennial Way on Friday just before 7:40 p.m. and again on Saturday at 10 p.m. on reports of gunfire. Gunfire damage can be seen on a window on the top floor of the Alabama Center for Commerce building in downtown Montgomery.WSFA 12 News has since obtained photos of bullet damage in windows at Alabama Center for Commerce on Adams Avenue. At least one of the rounds was fired into a top floor window of the seven-floor office building.It’s unclear exactly what time the shots were fired or who caused the damage, but MPD said an investigation is ongoing.
