A crowd of 1,100 civic and business leaders listened to the Downtown Seattle Association's annual report on downtown's progress and challenges as they work to bring back pre-pandemic visitor numbers.“While we’ve made progress on reducing violent crime in our downtown, misery and suffering driven by the fentanyl crisis is way up on the streets of downtown,” DSA CEO and President Jon Scholes explained.
“Five six years ago, we were at about 500 pills. We recovered 2 million pills last year with our federal partners,” Seattle Police Department Chief Adrian Diaz stated.
