Villagers have been left shocked after being tormented with randomly plotted corpses each week.
Poachers have dumped dozens of dead animals outside a shop following a spate of "horrific" incidents.
Residents suspect the poachers are covering their streets in corpses as part of a threatening "message" to ensure they stay out of their business. It's believed to be linked to gangs who front international gambling syndicates. The manager explained that farmers and landowners are "constantly" making efforts to protect the animals. However, he referred to an incident where pheasant poachers recently opened fire on a farmer who approached them, reports Daily Mail.
"Thank you all for popping in, messaging and phoning to make sure we are ok. We are ok. Shocked but ok. Thank you again for all of your help, we are so lucky and grateful for your support and extremely quick response to help us clear up." The shop continued: "Your fabulous shop team rallied round and got it all cleaned up. Please do continue to support your shop we are here to serve you.
Headteacher Jayne Fahey commented: "As Headteacher, I am truly saddened by this event and struggle to comprehend why anyone would think it an appropriate action." The publication also reported how 40 animal corpses were left north of Stockbridge, which is not far from Broughton, in November.
