‘Dr Evil’ tattooist who split woman’s tongue, sliced off nipple and removed ear is jailed
A TATTOOIST dubbed "Dr Evil" has been jailed for GBH after splitting a woman's tongue and removed an ear - despite the customers' consent.
The 50-year-old, from Bushbury, Wolverhampton, was heard screaming as officers lead him to the cells this afternoon at the city's Crown Court.Judge Amjad Nawaz said: "There is a clear public interest element in this sentencing exercise."The injury in each case is permanent and irreversible. McCarthy first appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court in 2017, when he initially denied six counts relating to the three procedures.
Following a failed bid to convince a Crown Court judge consent was a lawful defence, McCarthy took the case to the Court of Appeal, arguing what he did should be lawful to protect the "personal autonomy" of his customers.
