Search underway for British broadcaster Michael Mosley missing on Greek island
wife Dr Clare Bailey, 62, alerted police Wednesday evening when he had failed to return home by 7.30pm from his 20-minute coastal walk.
A community Facebook group on Symi shared a photo of Dr Mosley wearing a blue polo shirt a cap and sunglasses.“He set off to walk back from St Nick’s at about 13.30 and failed to make it home.“His name is Dr Mike Mosley and he is a familiar face for many British people as he has appeared on the BBC.
Police are currently searching the island for the missing TV star, using drones, tracking dogs and the aid of the fire department. "The information we have says that he returned from the beach of Agios Nikolaos, walked the footpath which is 10-15 minutes and arrived at Pedi, which is a residential area."
Symi's mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas told Proto Thema police and the fire brigade are working to locate the Brit. Science writer Malcolm Clark added: “So sorry to hear this. Michael is one of the nicest and smartest people in television and was a joy to work with. Hope rescuers find him soon.”Eleftherios Papakalodoukas explained: "He came back from the beach, some people saw him but then his tracks were lost."
