Dr Clare Bailey Mosley has confirmed the death of her husband after the search for him came to a tragic end on Sunday
The wife of Dr Michael Mosley said "he so very nearly made it" after she confirmed his death on the Greek island of Symi. Dr Mosley's body was found on Sunday morning close to a bar at Agia Marina. Search teams on a boat, alongside the island's mayor and members of the press, spotted it from the water before those on land went to the scene.
Dr Clare Bailey Mosley has now released a statement, paying tribute to her husband and saying he "did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn't be easily seen". She thanked everyone who had helped look for him. "We're taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it.
