According to Deadline, The Affair alum Joshua Jackson has signed on for the leading role in the upcoming medical procedural drama titled Dr. Odyssey, which hails from Emmy-winning creator Ryan Murphy. The project has officially received a straight-to-series order at ABC, which marks the network’s latest collaboration with Murphy after saving 9-1-1 from its Fox cancellation.
Jackson is expected to portray the titular role, “whose charms help him get what he wants.” Further details about the new show’s plot and characters are still under wraps, but it will reportedly take place on a cruise ship.Dr. Odyssey is written and executive produced by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, with Paris Barclay attached to direct.
Jackson is no stranger to the medical genre, as he previously portrayed a doctor in 2021’s crime thriller Dr. Death. His most recent TV project was Paramount+’s series adaptation of the 1987 movie Fatal Attraction.
