The smaller things in life can offer a clue to the wider things affecting our wellbeing
We are often given the impression that it is the “big stuff” in life that will make us complete as human beings – money, success, possessions and so on. And we are often encouraged as we grow up to face and deal with the “big stuff” first and treat that as a priority – the list of things to do,In both cases, we are led to believe that when we get on top of the big stuff, then we can rest and relax, and that life will be peaceful.
Society makes a big deal of the big stuff, but not so much of the little things. And yet it is those little things that make up the big stuff, and that are often a clue as to how we are feeling in life, and also the doorway into finding that peace which we all seek. This week, I want you to start noticing the little things and start to find the magic hidden within them. The little things can act as an indicator of how we are feeling and our current level of emotional reserve. Have you ever been in a situation where you are managing life OK even though things are busy and hectic, until suddenly one seemingly small thing happens or goes wrong and you just feel like you can’t cope anymore? We have all been there – the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
