Baltic Triangle drag queen Linda Gold said it was a 'dream come true'
One of Liverpool’s Pride Quarter venues has reopened under new ownership. The Navy, found on Stanley Street, temporarily closed its doors last month. However, it was a short-lived decision, as the LGBTQ+ safe space has already been reopened after being bought by city drag queen Linda Gold. The Whistorn-born business owner is no stranger to the industry as she currently owns FunnyBoyz in the Baltic Triangle. The performer told the ECHO : “I am very emotional to be taking charge of the club.
Whilst the Navy’s name will remain the others will undergo a refurbishment introducing two more themed venues to the city. The first, DysCo, is said to be a cross between a noughties-themed Vogue Ball and Studio 54. It reportedly will pay homage to its predecessor Jody’s, which was found on the same street and famed in the 80’s for its UV lights, flares and dimly lit haze-filled room. The second, a karaoke bar, will be based on the ITV comedy show Benidorm, aptly named The Benidorm Bar.
