Graeme Turner, a contestant on the popular BBC show Dragons' Den, was found dead in a woodland area in North Wales. The graphic designer, who appeared on the show in 2010 pitching a customizable children's wallpaper kit, took his own life, the coroner ruled. Turner's son paid a heartbreaking tribute to his father online, and friends and family shared their condolences.
A Dragons' Den contestant, Graeme Turner, was found dead in a woodland area on 1 October, an inquest heard. Turner appeared on the show in 2010, pitching a children's customizable wallpaper kit to the investors. The graphic designer sought £50,000 for 5% of his firm, but the Dragons decided against the opportunity. The wallpaper kit enabled parents to transform their child's bedroom into their favorite football stadium.
Following the show, Turner continued his business without securing investments from the judges. The inquest revealed the 53-year-old was found deceased last year in Pwllheli, North Wales. Coroner Kate Robertson delivered a verdict of suicide during the hearing, which took place this week. Turner's funeral was held on 16 January. Graeme's son paid a heartfelt tribute to his father on Facebook at the year's end, writing: 'I have just lost the best, strongest, kindest, most loyal, courageous dad I have ever had and known, he was the godfather the inspiration in my life. I am devastated and that is an understatement.' Friends and family also offered condolences in the comment section. One person wrote: 'A great man and I had the privilege to be in his company on many occasions in my time.' Another remarked: 'Very sad news, Graeme was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all. Condolences to Graeme's family and friends.' One friend posted: 'An absolute gentleman who will be sadly missed by all who knew him, my thoughts are with his family at this sad time, safe now in the arms of Jesus,' and another added: 'RIP Graeme, memories that will last a lifetime, thoughts are with all the family at this sad time.
