Members of the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo rescue a young whooping crane from suburban Chicago and return it to the more bird-friendly environment of Horicon Marsh where it learned to fly last fall.

OZARK — The 10,000 square-foot Kingsley Christian Learning Center officially opened for business with the snip of the ceremonial scissors at a ribbon cutting held Tuesday afternoon.

Debbie Patton agreed. “It’s been a wonderful team effort by people who have given it their all,” she said. A retired educator and school administrator, Patton chaired the Christian Learning Center Committee and is among those who oversaw the project from its inception. “Psalm 145:4 — ‘One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts’ — was selected as our campaign scripture verse,” Patton said.

In 2020 and 2021 the church’s building committee, finance committee and administrative boards investigated the possibility of expansion, allowing for additional enrollment. “Thank you to Vandalyn and Oliver Kingsley seems inadequate,” said Carroll. “Not only did their generosity make the KCLC possible, but they have also continued their unwavering support to include all new classroom materials and furniture,” she said. “What an amazing gift to our community this is.”
