Tax analyst Drew Johnson won the Republican primary Tuesday in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
called the race for Johnson at 1:38 a.m. EDT. With 91% of the ballots counted, Johnson led with 32% of the vote.
Johnson beat out six other GOP candidates to clinch the nomination. Other contenders included former state Treasurer Dan Schwartz, video game music composer Marty O’Donnell, and former state Sen. Elizabeth Helgelien. O’Donnell’s loss comes despite having the support of Gov. Joe Lombardo and funding his campaign with more than $1 million of his own money. Schwartz and Johnson also loaned their own campaigns hundreds of thousands of dollars.
