New discoveries mean new possibilities
Blue tarpaulins covering drilling rigs peep out on various green ridges at Collective Mining's Guayabales gold-copper project in Caldas, Colombia, a testament to the 40,000m program it has underway and also to the number of targets and discoveries it has made in a relatively short time. Collective Mining has made four discoveries so far, and while the company has yet to calculate a resource estimate, the mineralised footprint continues to grow and grow.
"The gaps in the model are because there hasn't been enough drilling. One of the issues with successful discovery is that you have to drill more to fill in the gaps, and you generate more gaps to fill," Reading explained.Collective has drilled about 26,000m of the 40,000m planned for this year, which will see it end with about US$8 million in its treasury. The company brought in a strategic investor in February who took a 7% stake, which could increase to 9.
