Steven McGarry, 37, who was previously jailed for his role as a getaway driver in a drive-by shooting, has been sentenced to six years and eight months.
A man once jailed for his role in a drive-by shooting is back behind bars after being caught with a gun and bullets in his home.
He was sentenced to six years and eight months at the High Court in Glasgow having pleaded guilty to a string of firearms charges last month.The original model and serial markings had been removed by milling. Images from the scene of the shooting show bullet holes in the living room window of the property after the home had been fired at. Firearm residue was detected at the window and pellets were found on the ledge and in the garden of the house.
Moira Orr, head of major crime at the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service , said: “This was an important recovery of a weapon that had the potential to cause significant harm. This weapon has now been taken out of commission and Steven McGarry will spend time in prison as a consequence of his crimes.
