The 58-year-old male driver of one of the cars was rushed to hospital but sadly died a short time later.
Emergency crews were scrambled to Stirling Street at Airdrie town centre at around 3.25pm on Friday, October 11, after reports of the multi-vehicle collision.
A 58-year-old male was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. His family have been notified and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.Sergeant Nick Twigg from Road Policing said: “We are appealing for any potential witnesses who are still to speak to officers to please get in touch.
