A person has died in a two-vehicle collision on a major highway in northeast NSW. A truck and a ute crashed on the New England Hwy at Ravensworth just after 6am on Friday. The ute driver was treated by paramedics but died on the roadside.
The truck driver, a 27-year-old man, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He has been taken to Singleton Hospital and is assisting police with inquiries. The New England Hwy at Ravensworth, about 95km northwest of Newcastle, is closed, with traffic diversions via the Golden Hwy and Denman Rd. Anyone with any information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
