Firefighters use a specialist boat to rescue the driver after his lorry got stuck near Tenbury Wells.
Midlands Today reporterCrews cordoned off the scene in Worcestershire as they used a specialist inflatable boat to bring him to safety.
He became stuck as Storm Babet battered the country, with heavy rain caused the River Teme at Lindridge, near Tenbury Wells to burst its banks.The road was completely engulfed by the floodwater causing the lorry to become marooned "Particularly here at Lindridge, the water gets very deep, the water is fast flowing and even the biggest lorries can get stuck," said crew commander Dan Roberts-James, of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
"We would advise people not to drive through floodwater, it's very dangerous, there's lots of unseen hazards in the water and it's contaminated."The road was shut off by emergency services Three people in the UK are known to have died as the storm swept across the country, causing widespread flooding and high winds.Follow BBC West Midlands on
